We welcome new members from all backgrounds who are interested in the rich and complex relationships between culture, health and illness. Whether you are a researcher, student, healthcare practitioner, community partner, artist, or someone simply curious about the social dimensions of health—there is a place for you in the CHaI community.
CHaI is made up of people working across disciplines and geographies. Some of us are involved in Lisa Dikomitis’s current and past research projects; others have found their way to us through shared interests and collaborative work. Our members include Master’s and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, clinical partners, global health collaborators, artists, documentary makers, and those working at the intersection of academia, practice, and policy.
As a CHaI member, you will have the opportunity to:
Join reading groups, discussions and seminars
Share your work and learn from others in an interdisciplinary space
Collaborate on writing, public engagement and creative outputs
Be part of a supportive and inclusive research community
Stay connected with updates related to the Culture, Health and Illness book and related work
CHaI is a place for asking better questions—about health, about illness, about how we live and care in a world that is always in motion. If you are drawn to this kind of work—rigorous, collaborative, grounded in culture and concerned with justice—then we invite you to be part of the conversation. CHaI is a growing community, grounded in care, critical thinking, and shared exploration. If this resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.
